Any set of laws, executive verdicts, and models which deal with the official rights of people working in any organization are known as employment laws. Employment law is not just a single law, instead it’s a complete system that is intended to give maximum protection to employees from their employers, via developing s group of laws and certain rules which the employers are bound to follow and respect. These laws include giving various benefits like health insurance to them and to their families. These laws also pertain to prevent the employers to give any unnecessary and undue privileges to any employee on the basis of religion, sex, race and gender.
If we talk about human rights, employment law has become an integral part of the judiciary, as it facilitates the rights of employees and workers at workplace. Employment laws are often known as Labor laws and they depict to the rights and compulsions of the employee and employer which are based on contract between the two groups.
Employment laws are not only meant for the benefit of employees, they give equal powers to the employers as well. According to some experts, the Labor Laws prevailing in the current scenario give much more power and authority to the employers as compared to the employees. Like this law gives the employers a complete right that they could fire their employee anytime they want, without any prior notice and without any reason.
Nevertheless there are still many positive things about employment law for example, there are certain standards that the employers have to meet, like they have to make sure that the work places is neat and clean and provide a healthy environment for the employees. Moreover the employees have an authority to make complain about their employer like not paying in time, taking forceful overtime and not giving compensations. Moreover it pertains to child labor and exploitation f children at work place as well. Similarly it covers acts like union strikes, work place politics, individual labor laws, working hours, wages, and safety of workers.
Labor Law makes sure that employers are not any more given inhuman treatment, and are not pressurized to work for nothing and under unhealthy conditions. The man of today expects that with the passage of time, these laws would be further modified and will start to get better. These laws would further improve the relations between employer and employees, which will indirectly be good for the growth of the company as well as the economy of the country.
